The AOKT team is hiring! We’re seeking a freelance Event Coordinator with immediate availability to assist with planning and operations for a small scale, 1-day public food and art festival taking place on October 26, 2019. This person should have at least 1 year of experience in coordinating event logistics, attention to detail, project management, and vendor relationship skills. Expertise in food and beverage permitting and audio/mic set up a plus. Additional details are listed below:
Collaborate with Across Our Kitchen Tables to ensure fidelity to project vision
Manage event partner and vendor correspondence
Assist in managing project deadlines and task lists
Facilitate and ensure compliance with city permit requirements
Ensure that equipment rentals, honorariums, and other costs stay within budget
Book event equipment including but not limited to A/V, canopies, chairs, tables
Manage communications with event site manager and production company
Anticipate and plan for event contingencies
Assist with marketing strategy and outreach
Manage small team of volunteers on day of event
Take lead on logistical oversight of set-up and break-down on the day of event
Knowledge of and relationships in the San Fernando Valley desired
The anticipated commitment will be 8-10 weeks, depending on start date. The hourly rate ranges from $17 to $20/hour, depending on experience.
