Event Coordinator

The AOKT team is hiring! We’re seeking a freelance Event Coordinator with immediate availability to assist with planning and operations for a small scale, 1-day public food and art festival taking place on October 26, 2019. This person should have at least 1 year of experience in coordinating event logistics, attention to detail, project management, and vendor relationship skills. Expertise in food and beverage permitting and audio/mic set up a plus. Additional details are listed below:

  • Collaborate with Across Our Kitchen Tables to ensure fidelity to project vision

  • Manage event partner and vendor correspondence

  • Assist in managing project deadlines and task lists

  • Facilitate and ensure compliance with city permit requirements

  • Ensure that equipment rentals, honorariums, and other costs stay within budget

  • Book event equipment including but not limited to A/V, canopies, chairs, tables

  • Manage communications with event site manager and production company 

  • Anticipate and plan for event contingencies

  • Assist with marketing strategy and outreach 

  • Manage small team of volunteers on day of event

  • Take lead on logistical oversight of set-up and break-down on the day of event

  • Knowledge of and relationships in the San Fernando Valley desired

The anticipated commitment will be 8-10 weeks, depending on start date. The hourly rate ranges from $17 to $20/hour, depending on experience.
